Tip of the Day
Reduce Water Use

Water in the morning for maximum efficiency. Up to 30% of water used for midday watering will evaporate, while nighttime watering causes your garden to stay damp longer, sometimes leading to mold.

Take a resuable plastic bag with you to the store to reduce the use of plastic bags. The Chestertown Rotary Club has partnered with the town by offering reusable "Chestertown Goes Green with Rotary" totes at the farmers market in town on Saturday mornings. Chestertown Rotary gave away 20 bags each on April 11 and April 18, and 40 bags on Earth Day, April 25 at the farmers market. Superfresh and Acme both offer reusable bags. Find out more about the dangers of plastic bags here.

How about this statistic:
"Between 10 and 15% of a TV's energy is still used when it's powered "off." TV use accounts for more than 10% of household electricity bills. If every home in the U.S. just unplugged their TV sets when they weren't being used, we'd save more than $1 billion per year in energy bills." (The Green Book)
